Club 60th Anniversary

Club 60th Anniversary Banquet

On February 25th, 1956, the Sears Halifax Toastmasters Club chartered, and it is still going strong 60 years later. It is currently the oldest Toastmasters Club east of Montreal.

Toastmasters everywhere and friends of the club joined with our current and former club members, with their guests to celebrate the 60th Anniversary at a gala banquet held on February 27th, 2016.

Highlights of the Event:

  • Keynote Speech by Joe Grondin, a 2010 and 2015 finalist in the Toastmasters World Speaking Championship
  • Door Prizes and Cash Bar
  • Sumptuous Dinner

The evening got off to a great start with past and present members taking 60 seconds at the mic to recall memories and wish the club well. Dinner was served and was excellent. We were then treated to an amazing video on the Club’s History, put together by our very own Mark Doyle. Please take a few minutes and watch it below. The evening’s keynote speaker was Toastmaster World Speaking Championship finalist, Joe Grondin who presented an engaging and memorable speech on ‘Drawing Your Masterpiece’. The evening concluded with thanks from the Club President Karen Caldwell, DTM.
